Of all our founding fathers it was Thomas Jefferson who understood that education was vital for the preservation of our liberty. He also knew that the abuses of power would undermine and eventually destroy the republic. Today, our elected officials too many are out of control. Case in Point, the Trump Administration. It is in our education that is fundamental for the preservation of our heritage. But, too much of which has been omitted. For over one hundred years America continues to operate on fiction of law. What we mean by fiction of law is” something known to be false is assumed to be true.” This is stated by Ryan v. Motor Credit co., 130 N.J.Eq. 531,23 A.2d 607,621. “That statute which would deprive a citizen of the rights of person or property without a regular trial according to the course and usage of common law, would not be the law of the land.”
We have to remember what Thomas Jefferson understood about keeping our basic liberties sacred. ” I know no safe depositary of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them but to inform their discretion by education. This is the true corrective of abuses of Constitutional power.” Jefferson goes on to say” An enlightened citizenry is indispensable for the proper functioning of a republic. Self government is not possible unless citizens are educated sufficiently to enable them to exercise oversight. It is therefore imperative that the nation see to it that a suitable education be provided for all its citizens.”
The history of the United States is now written with many falsehoods that hide the truths. It is in our history when we are confronted with the truths the education we receive always points us back to the known falsehoods as the truths. We are taught through governmental curriculum’s that have for decades omitted certain facts, misinterpreted known instances or completely mislead the public into believing that what they receive in their education as the truth. When we realize the extent of the omissions in our history that is being taught we begin to realize the dangers of just how close the United States is to become totalitarian state far removed from the democratic republic that Thomas Jefferson and the rest of our founding fathers envisioned for this nation.
For years the education the public has and is receiving is by design steering the American public away from the truth of our own history and how it affects everything we do. In this way our destiny is predetermined by our government. They continue to sanction falsehoods that hide the truth of what our own government has done to we the American public. The deception that has been played on the citizens of the United States has had far reaching consequences even to this day.
The circumstances in which we live our lives today are governed by a ruling class not of our choosing. We have been led to believe otherwise. Still too many are not fully aware of how our lives are actually controlled. We were all taught get a good education and work hard are the pathways to a more successful and enriching life. That may have been true a long time ago. But, today no matter how hard we work it is like we take a step forward but in truth we fall back two steps or more. As for education the decline is almost complete. Only now many of us have begun to realize the extent of the collateral damage that was done to our society some 40 years ago by substandard educational standards that were employed in too many school districts all across the country.
Thomas Jefferson was right all along. It is to bad that so many of us have forgotten the basic concepts of our Founding Fathers. Liberty, Justice, Education, and Morality; These are Principals upon which our democracy was founded. Where are they today? The United States is being led to the brink of implosion by corporate greed, elected officials ineptness, and our own apathy. For the past 40 years we have witnessed a steady decline, an almost total evaporation of the ideals and principals that made the United States a leader among nations of the world. In doing so we are now faced with an uncertain future, a sociological and economic deterioration unparalleled in our history. If we fail to act and continue to ignore our true history and the heeding’s of Thomas Jefferson the future of America is in grave jeopardy.
